Sam Altman believes that the iPhone is "the best technological product" of mankind

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is convinced that the iPhone is the best technological product ever created. He expressed this opinion in an interview for the All-In podcast, according to Slashdot.

"Personally, I believe that the iPhone is the best technological product that mankind has ever created. It's a really great product," said Sam Altman, speaking about the technology's development.
At the same time, the CEO of OpenAI could not answer the question about what will come after the iPhone.

"I do not know. I mean, that's what I was talking about. It's so good that to go beyond it, I think the bar is pretty high," said Sam Altman in this context.

It is noteworthy that he makes the relevant statements at a time when Apple came close to concluding an agreement with OpenAI on the use of ChatGPT technology in the iPhone.

During the conversation, he also spoke about artificial intelligence and music. According to him, he proposed an experiment to musicians in which they could create music to develop a training set where the model could learn about song structure or a good beat.

"I suggested it to the musicians as an experiment, and they said, 'Well, I can't object to it on any principled basis -- and yet there's something I don't like about it,'" explained Sam Altman.

In this regard, he mentioned a recent advertisement for the iPad Pro that angered a lot of people. In the video, which was published on May 7, a hydraulic press destroys musical instruments, which are replaced by a modern Apple device.

The CEO of OpenAI emphasized that he has a positive attitude towards artificial intelligence, "but there is something beautiful, in my opinion, in human creativity and artistic self-expression."

He believes that when AI makes science better, the reaction will be "great, go ahead." But what will happen if AI deals with this "profoundly beautiful human creative expression"?

think we have to understand that it will happen. This will be a tool that will take us to greater creative heights," said Sam Altman.

But he advises figuring out how to do it in a way that preserves the spirit of what "we all care about here."
